There are few entities in world which are indeed part of someones life. Few people love to keep returning a particular city or a place, just because a part of their live has been strongly residing there and yes, it is mandatory to visit that place and keep that part of the life topped up.
River Krishna is one such thing, as far as I'm concerned. It is the first ever river I've ever seen in my life, just before entering Karnataka from Hyderabad. Growing up at the banks of the river meant I was taken to the place more often and.. and... yes, my affection to River Krishna had been stronger than ever.
By the time I grew up, to someone who could express what I want, my only wish to my elders was to take me to the banks of River Krishna, from where I used enjoy the glimpses of the trains rumbling over the bridge making heavy metal sounds. It was not a one time affair, it was a daily affair and I should thank my elders, who have taken me almost all the times I had asked for a ride on a LML Vespa Scooter to River Krishna, in hot sun or in heavy rain, no matter what the weather is.
Some times, I used to get more lucky when I was allowed to venture into the river. Although I had done it very few times back then, but the way to tackle the rocks and the way to walk in a river are keenly observed by me whenever I was taken to the banks. Yes, I execute what all I had observed in my previous visits. Usually, it wouldn't be effective because I was very young and yes, I would end up getting falling down into water but sometimes it used to work and on such unusual instances, I would be in euphoria and sky was the limit for my happiness.
I probably was the guy, who was enthused while my Social Teacher was teaching me about he major rivers in the state of Andhra Pradesh and when I was asked about the river names I had knew, before teaching the lesson, I still remember, I proudly said "Krishna."
The Mighty Krishna! |
I'm probably the only guy in the entire train to pray for the non allotment of platform and a halt at Vijayawada Outer, considering the trains entering Vijayawada Junction from Krishna Canal Junction would have to cross the bridge over the Mighty Krishna River just before entering Vijayawada, and yes, there are innumerable experiences of mine where my coach was stranded right on the bridge and all I did was just experience the river. The moments like this may not matter, but yes, they give the kicks of the purest form of happiness one could possibly receive.
I had witnessed numerous moments in and around Krishna and of late, I've frozen one of the best moments right from the bed of river Krishna, sleeping upside down over a rock.
My life is stuck at the banks & bed of Krishna and yes, I would be there soon, for more happiness.
